Brett Jefferson


President and Co-Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Jefferson is the Founder and President of Hildene Capital Management, an asset management firm specializing in structured finance investments. Mr. Jefferson oversees all firm investment decisions and strategies and chairs the firm’s Executive Committee. With over 25 years of combined experience in the structured finance market and the option arbitrage industry, Mr. Jefferson has led Hildene to the Wall Street Journal (formerly Barron’s) Top 100 Annual Hedge Funds list for seven consecutive years.

Mr. Jefferson graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University and a Master of Management degree from J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Prior to founding Hildene, Mr. Jefferson was a Senior Portfolio Manager of the Marathon Structured Finance Fund, which had no down months during his tenure. Prior to Marathon, he worked in the Structured Credit Products groups at Salomon Smith Barney and Chase Securities.

Mr. Jefferson is very active in the community. He is a member of the board of directors of the Tewaaraton Foundation, which annually awards the Tewaaraton Trophy to the best college lacrosse player in the nation; as well as a board member of the Premier Lacrosse League (PLL), a tour-based professional lacrosse league featuring the best players in the world. Mr. Jefferson is also on the board of trustees of the Gifft Hill School in St. John, US Virgin Islands.

Dushyant Mehra


Co-Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Mehra is Co-Chief Investment Officer at Hildene Capital Management. In this role, he is responsible for the oversight of investment-related activities, including the management of Hildene’s hedge fund strategies and separately managed accounts, the buildout of the firm’s investment technology infrastructure and the development of new investment products, business initiatives and strategic partnerships.

Prior to joining Hildene in April 2016, Mr. Mehra was a Portfolio Manager at Pine River Capital in the Structured Products group, focusing on investments in CLOs, Non-Agency RMBS, ABS CDOs, other esoteric ABS and Asset Based Lending transactions. Mr. Mehra was also heavily involved in building out the quantitative models and infrastructure for investments in these products while at Pine River.  Prior to Pine River, Mr. Mehra was a Senior Associate at Hudson Advisors (Lone Star Funds), where he was responsible for underwriting investments in Non-Agency RMBS and ABS CDOs. Prior to that, he spent four years at Bank of America Securities, most recently in the Structured Portfolios Group, where he was responsible for workouts and liquidations of a distressed ABS CDO portfolio. Prior to that role, he was a member of the Structured Securities Group, where he structured synthetic ABS CDO transactions and built the quantitative framework behind Bank of America’s synthetic CDO structuring platform.

Mr. Mehra graduated Magna Cum Laude from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a BS in Computer Engineering and a Minor in Mathematics, and also holds a MS in Financial Engineering from Columbia University. Mr. Mehra is a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee.

Justin Gregory, CFA


Portfolio Manager

Mr. Gregory joined Hildene in May 2018 as a Portfolio Manager from Axonic Capital LLC, where he specialized in the sourcing, structuring, trading and portfolio management for residential, commercial, asset-backed and esoteric structured products. Before Axonic, he was a Vice President at Deutsche Bank AG on the Non-Agency Residential Mortgage Trading Desk. Prior to that, he spent over two years as a Vice President at Hudson Advisors/Lone Star Funds and was responsible for trading mortgage and asset-backed loans and securities. Mr. Gregory began his career at Goldman Sachs & Co. on the mortgage desk where he traded and structured Alt-A securities. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Michigan and is a CFA® charterholder and sits on the firm’s Executive Committee.

John Scannell


Senior Advisor

Mr. Scannell joined Hildene at the firm’s inception. Prior to joining Hildene, Mr. Scannell worked in the structured finance market for 13 years. His most recent position was as Vice President in the CDO structuring group at Citigroup where he provided on-desk legal, structuring, documentation, compliance and administration support for the CDO structuring business. Prior to joining Citigroup, Mr. Scannell was an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP where he represented a variety of issuers and underwriters in transactions involving collateralized debt obligations, asset-backed securities and other securities issued in publicly-registered transactions and private placements. Mr. Scannell also was a litigator for Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. Before attending law school, Mr. Scannell was financial controller for the New York division of a Fortune 500 medical services company, responsible for financial controls and operations. Mr. Scannell has a Juris Doctorate and graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 1996 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at San Diego State University in 1987.

Jennifer Nam


Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Nam joined Hildene in November 2017 from Fortress Investment Group, where she spent two years as Vice President and Counsel for the Credit Funds business providing primary legal support to their CLO/CDO platforms and loan origination desks.  Prior to Fortress, Ms. Nam spent seven years at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz as an Associate in the Restructuring and Finance Group where she represented borrowers, issuers and creditors in a wide variety of leveraged finance and in-court and out-of-court restructuring transactions. Ms. Nam earned an A.B. in Politics from Princeton University in 2002 and a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2008. Ms. Nam also completed a Fulbright Scholarship in South Korea in 2003 and sits on the firm’s Executive Committee.

Gregory Resnick


General Counsel and Chief of Staff

Gregory Resnick joined Hildene in August 2020 as General Counsel and Chief of Staff and sits on the firm’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Hildene, Mr. Resnick was the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Palestra Capital Management from March 2017 through July 2020.  Mr. Resnick was responsible for all aspects of Palestra’s legal and compliance program.  Prior to Palestra, Mr. Resnick was a Managing Director and Senior Counsel at Marathon Asset Management from 2005 to 2017, where he was responsible for a broad range of fund and management company legal matters, including regulatory, tax and structuring, both in the United States and abroad.  Prior to joining Marathon, Mr. Resnick was a contract attorney at Hughes, Hubbard and Reed/Hudson Legal, working on a multi-state pharmaceutical litigation from 2003-2004.  He graduated from Cornell University in 2000 and received his Juris Doctor from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 2003.

Peter Mobberley


Head of Business Development

Mr. Mobberley joined Hildene in September 2021 as Head of Business Development. He also sits on the Firm’s Executive Committee. Prior to joining Hildene, Mr. Mobberley was a Managing Director at One William Street Capital, where he spent three years focused on marketing and business development. Mr. Mobberley also held similar positions at SPM, Axonic Capital and Corbin Capital Partners. Mr. Mobberley began his career in 2006 at UBS Financial Services. He earned a BA in Political Science and Government from The University of Colorado at Boulder.

Kevin Bravo-Ferrer


Head of Strategic Opportunities

Mr. Bravo-Ferrer joined Hildene in October 2016 and focuses on operations and business development. He also sits on the firm’s Executive Committee. Previously, he was a Portfolio Manager at Pineapple Capital Management, a global fundamental value investment firm. In his role, Mr. Bravo-Ferrer identified and performed due diligence on both direct investments and third party managers under consideration for LP allocations, and was the lead for Investor Relations inquiries. Prior to Pineapple, he performed similar duties as a senior investment analyst at Fortress Investment Group where he recommended and performed due diligence on both direct investments in global equities, as well LP and Seed investments in managers, across geographies and asset classes. Mr. Bravo-Ferrer is a former investment banker with Credit-Suisse, where he led a team advising C-level executives and Boards on strategic actions to drive shareholder value, and was a buy-side analyst for Schroders’ US Large Cap and Alpha funds. Prior to his finance career, Mr. Bravo-Ferrer was a naval officer in the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in Washington, D.C. He holds a BS from the U.S. Naval Academy (Annapolis) and an MBA from the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business.

Lisa Harris


Chief Compliance Officer

Ms. Harris joined Hildene in February 2020 and was named Chief Compliance Officer in June 2020. Prior to joining Hildene, Ms. Harris was a Vice President in Compliance at Octagon Credit Investors. Prior to joining Octagon Credit Investors, Ms. Harris was Deputy Chief Compliance Officer at CIFC. Prior to CIFC, Ms. Harris was a Compliance Associate at Perella Weinberg Partners. Ms. Harris obtained a Juris Doctor degree and an MBA in Finance from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2007 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the State University of New York at Albany in 2003.
