Mr. Jefferson is the Founder, President and Co-Chief Investment Officer of Hildene Capital Management, an asset management firm specializing in structured finance investments. He oversees all investment related activity and sets the strategic direction for the firm. With more than 30 years of combined experience in structured finance markets and option arbitrage, Mr. Jefferson has been instrumental in leading Hildene’s development and industry presence.
Prior to founding Hildene, Mr. Jefferson served as a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Marathon Structured Finance Fund. Earlier in his career, he worked in the Structured Credit Products groups at Salomon Smith Barney and Chase Securities.
Mr. Jefferson holds a BA from Syracuse University and a Master in Management from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He serves on the Boards of SILAC Insurance Company, Hildene Re, the Tewaaraton Foundation and Avon Old Farms.
Beyond his responsibilities at Hildene, Mr. Jefferson is actively involved in philanthropic and athletic initiatives. He is a co-owner of the Carolina Hurricanes and a minority investor in the National Lacrosse League’s Oshawa FireWolves. His philanthropic efforts include support for organizations such as the Tewaaraton Foundation, Team IMPACT, and the Catherine Jefferson Foundation. In 2023, he received Syracuse University’s Letterwinner of Distinction in recognition of his professional achievements and contributions to the athletics program. In 2024, he was honored with Avon Old Farms School’s Distinguished Alumnus Award for his professional leadership and philanthropic accomplishments.
